What seems to us as bitter trials are often blessings in disguise.”~ Oscar Wilde
We all have times that we face challenges in our lives.
Whether they are challenges related to health, the current pandemic, relationships, finance, or work— challenges are a very normal part of our day-to-day living.
However, when we see those challenges as being too big or too difficult to overcome, we can feel stuck. Weighed down by worry and uncertainty. Overwhelmed.
To look at a challenge and ONLY see it as an obstacle, bringing pain and hardship is a decision.
To look at a challenge and see it as something that can be turned into a blessing is also a decision.
At any point in time, that decision is solely YOURS.
Just recently, I felt challenged after receiving many phone calls, messages, and emails from people asking for my help.
As a psychologist and life strategist, it is my purpose and mission to make a difference in people’s lives, and so I wondered, “If I am just one person, and there are only so many hours per day — how am I going to help all these people?”
I decided to put on my perception glasses which have one positive and one negative lens, because if I only focused on the “negatives” I’d be stuck in victimhood.
But if I chose to see the equal but opposite benefits or “positives” as well, I could turn my challenge into a blessing.
And so I asked myself, “Ilze, what are the positives of feeling overwhelmed and not being able to help everyone on a one-on-one basis?”
1~I realized that I could help many more people if I offered help through online programs.
2~ I felt inspired to find a solution, and master-planned a new course —The 4 Pillars of Strong Relationships — that is very affordable and accessible.
3~ I could offer the e-book I’d just put together (It’s Smart to Save Your Marriage) for free so that those who cannot afford marriage/relationship counselling have a guide to work through their marriage/relationship difficulties.
Once I found the benefits, I was able to move past the “stuck-ness” and see that my challenge was a blessing, not only to myself but to those seeking help.
Remember, we may not be able to change what life gives us, but we can certainly change our perception of it.
That’s what I helped a wonderful client of mine do.
Eliza, being single and in her forties, desired to have a child but felt that she wasn’t good enough to attract the life partner she wished to have her child with.
We worked on her challenges: the limiting beliefs she had about herself in attracting the ideal life partner; her seeing herself as being single and never having had a successful long-term relationship.
After changing her perception and adopting a growth mindset, Eliza attracted her ideal partner.
They are still together, and there is definitely a long-term future for them! Click here to watch a recorded live stream where I share more tips and client stories on turning challenges into blessings
From my own experiences, I know how hindering it can be to feel stuck in a challenge.
To only see the pains.
But challenges can always be turned into blessings.
And I can teach you how.
So, if you are tired of seeing the challenges in your life as obstacles that keep you from living the life you wish to live, I would be most inspired to help you transform them into blessings you can say thank you for.
In asking for help, you will have taken that first (big) step in the direction toward the life you so deserve.
From my heart to yours,
